Rachel & Jon

Hello,

We are Rachel and Jon, and we became a family of two when we married over 15 adventure-filled years ago; we expanded last year when our son Kieran joined our family. From the beginning we talked about growing our family through adoption one day. We want to teach our children to roast marshmallows over a campfire, and support them as they ascend a rock wall. We want them to discover the wonders of starfish and sea anemone in the tidal pools of Olympic National Park while under the watchful eye of our guard dog, Seamus. The world will be open to any child we are blessed to adopt.

As much as we love to get out and go, inside our home is typically a place where we can recharge as a family. The times of calm give us the energy to tackle all the excitement life has to offer. We want to provide a child a happy, warm home where they can gain the self-confidence and guidance to strike out on their own life-long adventures and fall asleep to the smell of popcorn after family movie night. Rachel would share her love of engineering and science, and Jon will make history come alive for them like he does for his students. Kieran is excited to share his talent for blowing bubbles and crawling. Every Halloween, they will dress in fantastical costumes to haunt our neighborhood, and every winter they will join their many cousins for a Christmas pajama party. We would treasure a little one in our family.
