The Process

Domestic adoption is the adoption of a child born in the same country as the adoptive parents. It occurs when the biological parents of a child relinquish their parental rights to that child. The process which allows Beacon House Adoption Services to place a child with approved adoptive parents is called Execution of Consents or Surrender of Parental Rights.

Through our domestic adoption program, adoptive families can adopt an infant that is only a few days old. Beacon House Adoption Services domestic adoption program practices a policy of semi-open adoptions. The degree of openness or privacy, is dependent on the needs and desires of the birth mother and adopting parents.

Beacon House Adoption Services domestic adoption program is a full service process that takes a family from the start of adoption to its completion, including finalization services, emotional support, birth mother outreach, and all services involved in completing a legal adoption.
